New Slough Discussion Thread Added
« on: Nov 23, 2014, 09:58 AM »
The past few seasons have seen the SD forums become pretty cluttered with many of the threads going off topic, and multiple threads containing the same topics, because members didn't know where to post or find the info they were looking for. Hopefully you are finding things easier to find and keep track of this season. That being said...

I've seen quite a few threads and questions on slough's over the past couple of weeks on the main page regarding ice conditions, places to fish, etc., and in an attempt to keep the SD forums organized there has been a new thread added to the South Dakota Fishing Reports And Conditions forum where you can post your Reports and Conditions for the different slough's across South Dakota. This is more or less on a trial basis and we'll see how it plays out and is received.

All new members you will need three posts to access the Reports and Conditions forum.

Welcome to your new Slough's/Misc. Counties thread.

Can't wait to read it! Always nice hearing how thick the ice is before driving 20+ miles to find out the lake is open...

Thanks for the compliment funtwohunt. The SD forum has always been a good place to hang out, and a fun place to go cut ice! Do you get up to SD much? Looks like you're close to Box Butte and I hear there is some nice fishing there. Safe ice to you sir!

Yea, I fish Box Butte a lot with pretty decent luck on average. Don't really go after the pike but go after the rest. Last year I did real good on walleyes and perch most all winter. Also, fish Smith Lake south of Rushville do rather well there too. Was up to the Lake of the Woods a couple years ago, Small sauger about it. Was looking to get to the Webster area some this year for a change. Just trying to see where to best place to go for a first trip. Some people were up to BB the 17th then it opened up some. Smith lake had several on it then too.
