ok, after a rainy false start on monday, finally going to make it out tomorrow......

how's the ice at sabattus? anyone know if all the rain on top of the ice has frozen?

also, can anyone confirm that the infamous Jim did not open for bait this year?

Just got off Sabattus...ice conditions are excellent, all of yesterday's slush is frozen solid, and we had 8 inches of ice 1/2 mile off the launch ramp.  Very few people fishing and we had flags all day.  Our biggest was 29", many in the 24" range, and 2 largemouth.  A great way to start the season!
About bait, Dag's was closed this am at 8:00, but Stone's (at the foot of the old bridge in Lewiston, might be Cedar St., tucked back in the old mill building) was all set.

Jims is on 196 if your heading towards lisbon falls its just before the mill. I will swing up the road tomarrow or friday and see if he is now open but as of this summer I was told he was done. If's its open I will be celebrating.
