Rainbows in Grizz country
« on: Dec 27, 2005, 10:07 PM »

A 13" & 20 3/4"-20"er released

A 13", 12" and 19+", 19"er released

Other than my tracks there was 2 sets of snogo tracks.  A nice way to spend a couple of hours on the day after Christmas.

Hope this works

Very nice scenery Grizz!  Good to see you figured out how to post up photos, it'll get easier with practice!  Guess we can expect some more shots from down south?  Love the desolation, nothing better than having a lake all to yourself. ;)

camo fish, a snowgo in rual AK is a snowmachine.

Barleydog, you can expect more from south central ;D.

Just a couple more notes-in the scenery shot you can see (barely) a red sled, I had a tip up there as northerns were rumored to be in this lake, no flags though.  Aside from the rainbows I caught a number of landlock silver salmon which I released.

Thanks-Grizz

cool, it looks like an awesome place up there. There must be all kinds of places to get out of the main flow of people, I would love to have a little jem like that with some awesome rainbows in it like you have. WTG  ;D

Camo fish,  there are plenty of places to escape the crowds in AK, you just have to go farther than the next guy is willing to go-the lake pictured is fairly close to Anchorage, you just have to hike in a ways-which is a good deterrent to many people ;).

turbojigger,  the ice actually isn't that thick this year and it's crummy ice too.  20" or so total, with 3" of ice on some overflow.  We had heat wave pass through :'(.

hali-man,  Yes I keep some (too tasty not to eat a few), usually the smaller ones though, and only enough for 1 meal as trout doesn't freeze as well as some fish. in the last pic you'll see the two small bow's next to my pack.
