Today at Braddocks Bay
« on: Dec 23, 2005, 05:27 PM »
Fished Braddocks Bay today and iced 4 nice pike.  We had 5 other runs and drops.  I had one flag that was not running when I got to the tip up.  When I lifted the tip up, I could see the pike 2' under the ice.  When I moved the tip up, I spit the smelt out and took off.  The pike were 34", 31", 26" and 26".  Here are the pics below.

That looks like a great day on the ice!
I have yet to latch into a toothy one this year,
but I have a strange feeling that will change tomorrow on Quaker...
Are you saving them for a tasty meal?

Oak,
The ice is about 5"-6" out far 7" in closer.  There was a lot of water on top when I left.  The water is about 3' deep all around.  The perch fishing is horrible.  Stay away from the marsh, I watched a guy go through the ice last Sunday.

I'm a-going to stay where ya sleep all day,
Where they hung the jerk who invented work
In the big rock candy mountains.

Gambell, I've never eaten a pike out of Braddock. How are they?  Do you eat many of them?
