Islands derby
« on: Feb 08, 2014, 07:15 PM »
Left the house at 3am and just got home didn't catch anything that was worth registering, going to try and see what happens in the morning. Anybody else have any luck or know what the standings are right now?

There was a 10.3 lb walleye hanging at the Keeler Bay store.  I would think that should place.

Here is what i heard as of yesterday afternoon with leader and 5th place

Pike 15.94-14.6
Lake trout 11.01-6.38
Pickeral 3.84-3.05
Walleye 10.31-6.65
Perch 1.36

That is all i was able to get updates on. I think Martins is keeping the tallies, so if you want more info give em a call.  At least the bar has been set.

Good luck to all!!
The closest flag up may be the one that is behind you !

I fished the derby for the first time. We showed up Fri. morning at Martin's about 9 am grabbed bait and headed out to our campers we rented from Gilbert. What a nice guy. The campers were modest but extremely warm. Gilly put us in a great spot and we started getting flags and fish right away. The best fish in our group was caught by Omer it was a pike that weighed in at 14.16 and 37 in. long she was weighed at Martin's and returned to spawn in the spring. I had a great time and expect to do it again next year!

Thanks for posting the results.

No problem. Took a little bit to find though.
