Will the real Tbone please stand up ;D
Hey squawfish are not bad canned. ;)
We get strange squawfish here

We also have certain lakes with high mercury levels which make fish with extra long tails. I caught a 4 lb burbot that was 36 1/2 inches. Loooooonnnnggg and skinny which counts in this tourney ;D

The cards been printed since New Years Eve. Now just waiting for the ice to smarten up. Was hoping to get out on the weekend to pull out the winning walleye, pike, perch, and ling ;D but another damn chinook is due in tomorrow with the temps for the next few days near 10c. :( Might have to use up my summer vacation plans to head further up north, but the wife may have something to say about that.

I wouldn't be to concerned about chinook. At night it is still -2-4 C. So ice is pretty good. Monday on McGregor it was arround 10-12 inches, same on Travers. So unless you want to drive on it ( I have hard time understanding this, why??? everything what leaks form your car on ice will stay and polute lake in the summer!) go ahead and enjoy!

Usually one chinook wouldn't be a problem, but when the daytime temps have been above 0 since mid Dec(Christmas Day 17c) and the nights barely getting to 0, the 6-8" of ice covering the lakes around the had is very very poor quality.

You don't have to go north.Lake newell still has 8-10 inches on it and not bad ice qualityfor as warm as it has been. Just stay in the bays.Seen trucks out on the ice,but they must have a death wish. Put studs in your boots though as the ice is slick. ;D ;D ;D
