Mine has a plastic gas tank and plastic cap with what looks like a pinhole in it (assuming its the vent hole. There is no screw, and I dont see how there ever was a screw for this cap.
Well I purchased another carb rebuild kit. It appears to have fixed the problem. I noticed the needle wasn't sticking out as far on the new one. I must have pushed the first one down in there to far. I do notice that it still leaks a tiny bit where the primer hose attaches to the bottom of the carb. I also saw a few air bubbles there. It leaked here before. I can't tell if it came from the plastic fixture or around the hose. Do they usually leak here? Will this cause it to run bad? Should I try replacing the hose?
There's gas leaking from the area of the nipple on the bottom of the carb. I just can't tell if it's between the nipple and carb or the hose and nipple.
Update - I got the new gas cap someone provided in a link above, that seemed to fix the leak from the vent in the cap, but I also now see a small leak coming out of the tank where the cap screws on Its very possible this leak was there before and just wasn't as noticeable as the leak from the vent in the old plastic gas cap. The tank itself is plastic and I don't want to over-tighten the cap. Think a few wraps of Teflon tape would work as a "good enough" fix? I would replace the Teflon tape after every couple times I take the cap on and off. Typically, 1 tank of gas will last me 3 trips out so if that is a simple fix, I'm good with itAny other ideas?
Tanaka power head.
What does that mean?
