Anyone been out at Copper Harbor yet this year? Wondering if anyone is catching Splake, if its worth a ride up there this weekend.

Rumor has it there was 18 tents out there last weekend, just about out to the point. My friends caught 7, only two keepers though.

It's slow. Mostly undersized fish.

How far is the ice? Past the island?

Got one 17" keeper on a tip-up today. Many undersized fish also caught by groups nearby. Ice seems to be holding, except where somebody left me a 18" snowed-over hole in which I went in past my knee...but OK day otherwise.
