Twin Lakes-Mammoth dam
« on: Dec 11, 2005, 08:16 PM »
Does anyone have any ice info on these Westmoreland lakes. I know that Twin is supposed to get a trout stocking on Dec 13.

Scotty, do you know anything about Mammoth? There should be a lot of trout left in there because they got a November stocking and not many were fishing before it froze over.

Does not get much pressure there--no where close to what Twin gets.

Three of us fished Mammoth this morning and it was very slow. Only 1 trout to show for the entire morning. Not another fisherman out. The ice was a solid 6 inches, but the fish would not cooperate.

one other thing came out of the day besides the trout:  A lesson learned.  I always wondered why two old guys always like to take a young guy ice fishing with them.  Well i learned why 40 holes later with a hand auger.  Thanks for the lesson Sen-Sei!

Fished for a little over an hour today, no takers. 4-5 inches of ice. There was a half dozen other people fishing. Wish I had time to stay longer and track down the fish. I believe I read in the paper that it gets stocked with trout Feb. 16.
