Bait at assunpink lake

For those that are interested the assunpink bait and tackle is under new ownership and they tell me they will be open weekends in the winter. They seem willing to do a by appointment schedule as well.There phone number is 609-259-7332 just give them a call when your headed that way..They seem like real nice folks.

I was there about an hour today and explained to them that they will have customers if there is ice...They are the only game in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey reb hows the crappie bite thier last season culdnt get bait used crawlers only got cats thier were guys to the left of the boat ramp getting some nice size bass i do good with the crappie thier in open warter

To be honest with you I dont usualy fish for crappie there ,I target the pickeral and bass mostly.I know there is a good population of them in the lake.

There are quite a few perch in there but the biggest I've ever caught was only about 6"....there has to be bigger ones but they are few and far between it seems

Throw the bass back, every year quite a few are removed by icefisherman.

Its the same everywhere. People come and take everything they catch through the ice.  >:(

I personally have never seen anyone keep any bass from this lake, open water or ice. I sure hope its not people keeping 8 or 9lb bass to show em off to their fishing buddies. If I ever get 1 like that I'm getting a replica made up, no reason to kill a big female to get a mount made.
