Humminbird ice 55 at Granby
« on: Jan 09, 2014, 04:58 PM »
Was fishing some water today that was 130 ft deep. My ice 55 was working great in anything under 80-90 ft of water. When I dropped it in the deeper stuff  (130 ft)completely worthless as far as seeing fish or my jigs. And these jigs were 1 ounce of lead and a 5 inch tube. Tried the zoom feature and this did not help. Also the battery had a fresh charge last night. All I could do was fire up the lx7 and all was good. Could see the fish and the jigs no problem. Is this a limitation of the ice 55?I had a different one last year at Green Mountain in 100 ft do similar and I figured it was just a low battery. I really like the 55 for outside in the sun because you can see it so much better than the Marcum, but inside the lx7 smokes it in all ways. Thoughts? Oh and the fishing has been great the last couple of days!
