2014 Childrens Picture Contest

Parents, get the kids on the ice! Tipups, jigging, it's all great fun!

There's just 1 rule in the contest :
Make sure you have the child, the fish and the card while on the ice!
The photo will not be considered if the card is not pictured

Contest will run from now through February 10th.
Open only to CT residents

Winners will pick up prizes at:

Connecticut Outfitters
512 Silas Deane Highway
Wethersfield, CT 06109

Prizes include Frabill Ice Rods, assorted ice jigs, and 100 spikes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In addition 1st place receives a JetSled.

Be sure to print the card and take a picture of the child, fish and card!

Maybe break the ice isn't the appropriate term, so here's a few photos of Esox Fix's little sweetheart to get things started.

Obviously these were taken before the contest started so she doesn't have a card, don't forget to get the card in the picture with your kids! Your child can only be considered in the contest if the card is in the photo. Although I posted up several photos of Esox Fix's sweetheart as examples, please pick your best photo and submit just one to avoid bogging down the site.

C'mon folks, only one more weekend to get the pictures! It's all about getting them on the ice, having fun with the kids.

A number of people have requested an extension of the contest. The contest will be extended through Monday, February 10th to provide an additional full weekend for everyone to get the kids on the ice.

I took my two oldest daughters (yes, I have another younger one) to Gardner for a few hours last Sunday.  Gotta get 'em started early!  I broke the cardinal rule of taking kids fishing - bring them to a place where they'll catch a lot of fish.  We didn't catch a whole lot, but the kiddos got to see how a tip-up works, and they had a blast flinging this perch around on a jigging rod.  Looking forward to getting them out again soon!

Thanks for getting the pic up Paul!

Pictured above are my two boys Alex & Josh. Despite the poor fishing, these two were having   a blast at our club tourney. For Josh, the younger one, it was his first time fishing at a tournament, as for Alex it was his last time as a youth, but he decided to pay up and fish with the big boys, and paided for it ;D ;D ;D Fishing was oddly sloooow at this one and the kids ruled the day with the biggest fish! My kids settled for the pickeral above and dad whipping them around in the jet sled.
