Fished Eel Bay on the North side of the bay today with little success finding perch (plenty of small pike around which made for a fun day).  People fishing in the area said they had success with perch early in the morning but the bite slowed by 10am.  There is a 16" of ice on Eel Bay and most of the river has ice so you have your pick of spots when you come up.

Eel is real shallow, unless you have a sled, it makes it a long walk to get out to more than 10 ft of water. Id hit up lake of the isles if you want to stay on welsley. the rest of the river is hardening up too, if you really wanna fill some pails.
