Shanty question?
« on: Jan 03, 2014, 07:26 PM »
What do you use to help your shanty pull easier in the snow.  Crisco, Pam, any other lubricants?  Getting to be a pain in the arse to drag it all over the ice!

The smitty sled is the way to go. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

After this cold spell, just use an ATV or Snow machine...lol Brrrr Really though, we always used soap when sledding, but I have always been afraid it would get in the water and effect the fishing.

I use a conduit sled to haul all my gear. New years eve it included my jiffy, Shappell 4000,Vex,Camera,lantern,heater, full minnow bucket, tipups, poles, and all the extra gear. Maybe 200lbs in total.
With a couple inches of snow I can pull it with 1 finger.
I made Abishop a believer in my sled the other night. I'm planning on making him one to haul his Super Shack and gear out to the fishin hole.
