I'm going to have to look in to one of those

I got mine a month ago, and it was hard to find them in stock. Bass Pro had them last month.

is that even worth it?  i never mind hand drilling because it warms me up.....    i can't see it really powering through the ice.  did you test it out yet?

I got a 20v lithium Dewalt with the Clam board and it goes thru the ice easily. I tried it today for the 1st time and it drilled a 6in hole thru 6inches of ice in under 20 seconds!

Made it so easy yesterday that I drilled ~3X as many holes as normal. Shouldn't have bothered, though..  :pinch:  Not a good day.

5" Lazer with a Rigid 18V. 12.5lbs. with a "full" 4ah battery. 60+ holes in 6" clear, black ice. Battery guage showed 3/4 power left.

Ive used a cordless drill for years. I can get 30-40 holes a day. If you hole hop they are priceless.

The great thing about the plate compared to the old shaft adaptor is that it takes all the abuse out of the drill body and chuck. the drill is only using the rotaion of the motor

I think the key in  using a drill is having sharp blades and a battery with 3 to 4 ah rating

Had mine out today and  drilled 12 to 15 holes thru 6 inches of ice with a  20v 1.5 ah battery, wasnt very happy knowing i need to spend more money on a  bigger battery
