Atomic Ice Derby in La Crosse WI

Maybe its already been posted but wanted to give a heads up to those who go its set for Jan 25. Everyone should check it out if you haven't. Tickets are $25 a piece and can be picked up before the derby at Bob's bait and tackle in La Crosse. There was something about a $5000 cash bonanza this year. Haven't heard anymore on it but I am sure like always they will have great prizes again this year! Hope to see everyone there!

Maybe a half mile... but to get down to better spots a mile or so. I take my fourwheeler. Lot of people have them and lots drive out there but won't catch me driving my truck out.

Where the tent is set up you can drive right out onto the lake.  There was already a very brave truck out on the lake a couple days ago I guess, and by the time the derby rolls around there's usually 20" of ice and trucks everywhere.

 Owner of bobs bait n tackle told me last month and hea got it posted on facebook and other local stuff.

My son and I fished for 6 hrs. and never got a bite. That was the coldest day I have ever had on the ice. The holes froze shut with the heater running full blast.

Why don't they have a heater in the main tent?  I would have stayed and spent money if it was at least 40 degrees inside.

The old Lake Onalaska ice derbies always had a heated tent.  I remember being a kid out there and the place was packed shoulder to shoulder with a meat raffle going on.  They used to spill more beer on the floor of that place than they drink now.
