Berlin pond may be an option for you. I am going to give it a try this weekend. Perch only, and you can only keep 10. They are big though. If you are interested I will post here this weekend.

I would like to give Berlin Pond a shot this winter...wish they had built the boat access this past summer so that it would be easier to get to the middle of the pond. Too much gear to walk two miles though my doctor would prefer I did!!!  ;)

The Town of Berlin is working on an access, but is not rushing it. I think they are trying to avoid conflicts with Montpelier. The location they are considering is not near the middle of the pond where the Town owned land is. The launch area they are looking at is on the north end near the pull off where walkers and joggers park. Hopefully 2014 brings a boat launch / fishing access.

I posted on quick trip to Berlin pond yesterday morning. I would be very careful right now.
There were no tracks past my double orange sled tracks 3-400 yards out and stopped
at 2.5 inches of ice.

Haven't fished there but a fellow I know said the perch out of their we're bizarrely tough last season. Anyone else encounter this? (Berlin, btw).

Tough as in hard to catch or tough to eat?
