LBDN???
« on: Dec 10, 2013, 12:04 PM »
Heading up there this weekend and haven't heard about a lot of people fishing it yet. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck yet and What's the safest spot to get on, how far can you get out on foot?

I heard there was a bunch of people in Kipling. Heard that there is 5" of ice up by the mouth of the days river not sure about elsewhere.  Be safe out there and watch where you walk.

Was down there today. The ice is fishable throughout the narrows, and the Terrace if you can handle a little tip toeing.
Good Fishin!!!

15" jumbo perch caught and released. Thought about getting this pig mounted. 3 eyes this evening. 2 jigging and 1 on a tip up. Also caught a bonus 36" pike. Got him on a jig pole. Awesome fight. He was released as well.

Nice! I'm planning a trip to little bay next month. I've never been there before. Does it get pretty crowded?

I have fished off the terrace twice so far, there is at least 7" of good ice. fished off of esky yesterday for some whities and the ice we were on is gone today! had four inches there.

Had an awesome trip! Over 30 keeper walleye total and a lot of perch. Biggest eye was caught by my buddy, 9.4lb  and another guy with us caught an 8lb.

Was my second time going up and I had a blast. First day out I had a limit by noon averaging 20in. Had only caught one walleye through the ice before and that was in February when we were up there.

Couldn't even tell you an exact lure or color to use. We caught walleye and perch on every thing from no.7 jigging raps to no.2 shad raps and a lot of different color and size spoons. Couldn't really find a pattern.

Eric, were you getting walleye all throughout the day then? I see you had your limit by noon, just curious if you were able to find them in the middle of the day as well

We caught fish all day but it definitely slowed down just after noon up till 3-4. Didn't really fish much towards Kipling mostly north bay and off the reefs.

A buddy and I went there on Monday. Lots of lookers, missed a couple jigging ended up bringing home 3 between the two of us, all on tip-ups

Wow....was thinking on coming up for a few days but that's not worth a few days work, the drive, and the money spent to stay. Thought it was much better than that up there. Depressing!

Like any other body of water in the Ice belt, some days are just better than others.

Live on Erie.......know all about that. Just haven't heard any really great stories to make trip.....other than you have ice....we don't...lol. still think I'm gonna come up just to get away, and on good ice! Not looking for 50 fish day.......just some action....good food and maybe a cold beer!

Picked a few eyes up the other day, relearning the Bay after being away for 26 years.
