I placed an order with Pete's Tackle early last Friday and received it yesterday. My order consisted of an assortment of jigs for me to try this hardwater season. I must say, at first glance these jigs look to be made of the finest materials and the craftsmanship and attention to detail is first rate. I want to thank Pete for a top quality made in Montana product & the quick shipping was an added bonus. I would urge all the Montana iceshantians to check out Pete's Tackle, order a few of his products, and try them out. Supporting our site sponsor is good also. Hopefully I can get out in the bitter cold this weekend and try them out. I'll report back when I do. Take care everyone & good luck on the hardwater!!!!!

Where is Pete's Tackle located? Those jigs look like winner's! I'd be happy to support local. Any of this gear in shop's in Bozeman or at the Bend Willow in Townsend on the way to CF. Cheers! -FH

Great post! I just started using his stuff this year and it is TOP quality.... You can tell he puts the time in and makes sure it is done right! The Whiptail is my favorite so far, but if have not used everything I bought from him yet!

Yea Pete makes some good tackle it's always well made and durable and trust me from wins in the perch assault to placing in many other derbies around the state they catch fish I promise, Baylee an I support and fish Pete's tackle every time we are out I strongly recommend if you haven't tried it to race out and get some items you won't be sorry I have even mailed some of his jigs to a friend in North Dakota to try and he is begging for more keep it up Pete and thanks for everything

Lead Maggot wed 12-3-13 just a small Crappie caught nine close to the same size was out fishing with my buddy Ross from Snappy's fishing department. He smoked but the Maggot came through with size.

I picked up some jigs from Pete in Helena and not only love the jigs but the knowledge and advice he shared about using them and ice fishing in general was worth the money. He even said he would gaurantee the workmanship of his products and replace any defective jigs for free. Definitely seemed like someone doing what he loves for a living and i will support him and his business in the future. I particularily liked having the lead maggots the last couple weeks when i couldnt find any live maggots in stores yet. Thanks again Pete!

Wrap your mind around this...

Whiptail body, wire strand with a couple of brass beads to clack and make noise, tied to a glow #8 or #10 trouble hook for fishing for walleye, pike, and big perch using a minnow head for bait. It has the body for flash, the beads for noise, and a big enough hook to pin a minnow head on and still be able to get a solid hook up.

Could be made as an accessory to the whiptail. Buy the regular whiptail and then have a "big game" tail add on that could be used in place of the original tail or on another spoon. I'll be making an order soon.

I have been searching long and hard for something of the sort. Soft body or hard. I would pay top dollar.

Was just talking with Pete today. He is a real class act. One of my favorite things is that he doesn't try to sell you stuff, but he looksout for you and wants you to have the best fishing you can.

And yes, I ended up with some of his lures. Can't wait to try out the whiptails on kokanee on the Swan later.

Whiptail here sent out all orders 12-9-13 even a big one for Don's in Lewistown. Ross at Snappy's are planning to go out to Church Slough Wed sometime to get some pike crappies and whitefish. I Here it is doing great right now.

Do any of you target trout with the WhipTail & if so, what's the best way to fish it ??

I caught 1 bow a few weeks ago with purple whiptail. I caught 6 with a different set up. It wasn't my go to hook for them.

Hay folks I sent Sharron out at the Silo's an order of Whip Tails and Tail Dancers yesterday, Tail Dancers are only at the Silo's and Snappy's this year will have them on my Web store in the spring of 2015. Get your local retailer to carry Pete's Tackle.
