Crappy start to the 2013-2014 Ice Season

    Headed out on a tip from a friend and absolutely slaughtered some beautiful Crappies. Funny start to the day, I was way off the spot and he stoped by for some promised venison and to drop off his secret weapon..... I can't say what it is and you wouldn't believe me if I did, I really thought he was pulling a fast one on me.... He was not  :icefish: :icefish: :icefish: :icefish: :icefish:. 2nd spot was the last stop for the day, did a double limit of 10-14 inch really healthy fish and played catch and release for an hour. All told we put 78 keepers on the ice with 1 throwback. Few gills to add to the pile today, but they were nice. Earliest I have ever ice fished and 1st limit of Crappies in 5 years ice fishing.

I don't think I have ever seen that many crappie caught since the seventies.  I am very impressed.

Ya, it was really something to see the amount of quality fish. I fish a lot of lakes and ponds but this one is just unreal  :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
