Tow Hitch upgrades Modifications
« on: Nov 17, 2013, 11:49 AM »
Modifications I made to my Frabill tow hitch.

No need to remove the 2" towing ball from my ATV and very easy to attach. No messing with installing the hitch pin and cotter pin in the cold.

Installed eye bolts so I could attach the yellow poly rope instead of drilling holes in the sled base. Why didn't Frabill think of this?

I looked at a reciever like that but it won't work on my quad. The ball mount is on a downward angle. So I had to come up with something. This set up cost me about $4. But thanks for posting the link.

I used a 2" hitch and welded 1" pipe for the arms. I like the two arm method since it seems extremely stable.

Can you get a better pic of the eye bolts used and what size are they? I would like to do this as well. Thanks

Thanks ultra guy I always pull my Predator out with my 4-wheeler but on windy days this would be useful to anchor the shelter down to the ice so I don't go for a ride if I want to undo my wheeler. I will then need to add an anchor point to the back side of the sled as well.

I drilled a small hole through the tub floor and screw the anchor into the ice. Less time messing around outside IMO.

My dad does the exact same thing with his suitcase frabill.  Works great.

I have seen others do this however I am afraid I would jump on my wheeler and try to drive off without taking it out.

Tie the key to one and you won't forget.
