A box full of mousees were waiting at my door when i got home this evening. I am looking forward to positive ice reports asap.

Can you keep them alive all winter? Or do you reorder later on? I usually use spikes, they last a couple of weeks for me, maybe my refridge temp is a little off.

I live about 15 miles south of Richmond. Small 10 acre ponds completely frozen with a 1/2"-1" of ice and still some snow in the shady areas. Warm weather is going to melt everything. We need steady temps with no warm ups.

Larger ponds just skimmed over or still open. Also being at 1200' elevation helps.

I noticed alot of skim ice on my way to work Thursday. Seems the water is ready to freeze as soon as we get the air temps.

I'm hoping it isn't too windy.  Was 16 degrees outside when I left for work yesterday.

Sunday's wind won't help us.  Let's home for some frigid calm nights soon.

A couple of windy, cold nights will help the bigger lakes cool and turn over. After that, cold and calm is best for sure.

Anybody care to guess whether there might be ice on one of the small northwest ponds in a couple of days?

My hope is that we may possibly walk on water somewhere before Christmas. Anything before that will be a miracle.

I have seen posts of guys fishing up in  the Adirondack's on small ponds with 2 " of ice already. I still say someone will be fishing on ice in the northwest corner of the state before Thursday.Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey, cold wind makes ice.

I've looked around up here and before Thursday isn't going to happen, not even a remote chance.

There is a chance for ice for thanksgiving in CT.  Ponds don't take long to freeze and i know some that are already fully iced over with an inch or so.

oh, you guys are talking shoreline?  you wont see ice anytime soon, I am talking NW CT, it is 14 out this morning, and the ponds that are frozen already, wind won't hurt much!

Small ponds that are already frozen will make some nice clear ice,the wind will drop the temps in the big lakes quicker, than if it was clam. You will be on your favorite lake very soon.NW will be the first to icefish. Or call Eiderz and tell him to break out the wilcraft
