Draining Pond 5 at Ocean Lake?

This isn't the Ocean I'm thinking of, is it?

I think it is just a smaller pond they decided to drain that is attached to Ocean. Just saw that story online too and after reading the article they are trying to increase waterfowl activity. Just my 2 cents

Yes, it's a small pond adjacent to Ocean Lake. They did another one last year also.

Wasn't aware of the fact there were multiple bodies of water there. Are the others fishable as well?

Don't know if there were ever any fish in them. I used to duck hunt the ponds.  They are to the east and a little south of the boat landing by the outlet and the Dickenson Park area.  By the way, I had a friend in Riverton who used to fish the drainage downstream from the lake in the winter.  He claimed to quite well on ling some years.  This was in the 80s though.

They drained the pond just west of pond 5 to burn all the cattails out and open some of the water for the ducks and geese.  It needs to be done to most of the ponds out there, the cattails are choking out a lot of the area, but makes some nice deer habitat.  It has gotten way worse since I work out there for the game and fish, they use to either dig the cattails out or dynamite them out on a normal time line.
