Accuweather is looking promising, might be early to mid Dec but two years ago accuweather predicted cold weather for the next week every week for a month straight before it caught up. if you know where to look.

Saw 3-4 ponds iced up this morning on the way to class. Saw more than a handful iced up last weekend when the weather was warm too, but I doubt they made it through the warm spell. They are probably iced up again by now though.

I'm trying not to get too excited just yet. My worst fear is that I have to choose between deer hunting or ice fishing. That might just be too much for me. Lol

Went out duck hunting on Thanksgiving only to find about 1/2 inch of ice on the swamp I hunt. Obviously no ducks, but i was more excited than disappointed. Cant wait to drill some holes.

Like shooting fish in a barrel. I'm predicting this weekend, next Monday at the latest for some fish able ice.
Might as well round up the gear and ge-er-done.
Might as well put in my order for bait as well. GALORE, you want in on the bait order? Check the wholesale bait website. I use wax worms most of the time, I get 500. Spikes are to small. Meal worms if you want them.

Did anyone get out on December 1st? I bet there was some safe ice. If I wasn't up in New England for thanksgiving I would have tried to find some down here. I hoping to get out Friday. I have the day off so I'm going to at least drive around and do some scouting.

bigyam and I got out on....maybe it was December 1st? Whatever the monday after Thanksgiving was. Had 3 inches of ice. I fished for about ten minutes before the pucker factor took over from deteriorating ice. Got a picture of me in the background on the ice of a picture of his dog lol.

Nice, I figured someone got out. There was 4" in a few spots in the NW corner of CT on Sunday the 1st so a few spots in NJ must have had at least 3".

Here's my prediction............ we'll have ice when the water freezes! That will be when it's cold enough, without wind, for the water to harden............

and then it'll have to be close to 4" everywhere for me to venture out otherwise I like my other choices and will forgo the young (or the ignorant) mans ego of invincibility.

8 degree low tomorrow night, only problem is my pond has 2" of ice and now 3+ inches of insulating snow, dam won't gain much ice that way

Hey DELAWRERIVER, get out the snowblower and a shovel and clear that snow off your lake, you should have 8-12 by the weekend, then you can pay a guy to plow it for you. Just a thought.
