I will be giving my Lowrance Elite 5 a try on the ice. To do it I will be getting rid of a couple other flashers.

I've got the Marcum Camera, some new tungsten, replenished some stuff I lost, some 1" twister tails, and a jig rod case that looks like I can put five fully rigged rods in. The case needs a slight modification to hold the 36" rods. Two 1 1/8" holes on one end I think will do it!  :icefish:

You'll love it!  If you don't already, get a map chip to help with location.  Graph mode is the best.  Search for it, I've got a few posts.  Also the settings other members use for the HDS 5 should get you on your way.

I added a new  to me jet sled, 10" propane auger, five used jack traps , a newer fan cooled sled and a lot of hope for a good ice fishing session.

Got a Brand New Jet Sled Magnum off Cragslist this past summer with a hitch and cover for $150. A couple of jigging poles, new tackle bag, a few more traps for when friend and family join in on the fun (you can never have to many) And a bunch of new PK lures to break in! Hmmm, good thing I found that Magnum, I'm gona need it!  ;D

That's the new card the state gives out to buy bait kinda like a EBT card they give out.  I think you can use it to buy traps, terminal gear and other essentials.  I think it stands for Ice Fisherman Opportunities for Youngsters

2 newer snowmobiles.... one is an 08 Polaris shift 600, the other and 04 XCSP 500.  Smaller sled can be used by my fishing buddies for a price $$$...;-)
Now at West Grand when everyone takes off in the fresh powder to explore I can join in on the fun!   
will miss the Grizzly....maybe in a few years will get another...fuel injected this time!

I was thinking of either buying insulated hole covers for my traps, or getting new traps with the hole insulation built in. I had a hell of a time last year keeping up with ice locking up the reels on my tip-ups on some really cold days. Hoping the insulation will reduce hole maintenance. :-\

for real I never have a problem up here in Northern Maine, what kind of trap do you have now?
