Agree...I went out last night for the last time. It has been a good season. 10 weeks of ice fishing is more than I thought I would get. See everyone next November....thinking positive for early Winter.

I'm expecting to be on brushy till next weekend. It's getting down below freezing tonight up there, and it won't be above freezing till Tuesday. Temps are cool up there all week. Started with 12-15" out there, before this rain. and wind. There will still be 6-7" left IMO. Put my ice stuff up; heck no, plenty of ice up at clear lake and the Great Lakes too!!!!

Im doubting it. Had to walk through knee deep open water to get off. Ice is sinking pretty quick with all the water.I got a picture. Maypt it later.

In the central part of the state the creeks are running bank high and dumping the water over the ice big time.  Think I'll take a look at my boat.

Yep time to strip line of the short poles and swap some reels over. Haul the shacks down to the basement and drag the boat out. Its been a blast guys but all good things must come to an end. Hope to see some of you on the soft water.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

Yes there was still good ice on West Okoboji ,,but lots of water on top where i was at couple inches anyway...
saw a truck out there but when we left the ice,, water was running onto the lake...
Spirit lake has received about an inch of rain and still raining.. it's going to refreeze so it should still be good for awhile !!

The IGLs are just firing up. Its been a tough winter but from here til iceout it should get a lot better. I got 22 panfish Friday. Not to mention some of the thickest ice I have ever seen at the lakes.

Yep, all done for me in Central Iowa.

Fished the last time through the ice on Hickory Grove yesterday.  Ice was thick (about 6 inches of it was "solid"), but getting out on it was the hard part.

After the rains I figured it is time to put all the ice gear away and spend some time on the open water stuff.

It has been tough all winter for my group, nothing like the previous years.

We did "ok" for the couple hours we were there.  just gills and greenies though, nothing else.  about 15 or so total, kept 5 for a meal.
