As murphy's law would have it my weekend to fish has been sub optimal. Fished sat on a two tip up lake decent day not much wind but not a single flag.
Skipped sunday as wind was too much. Im off again today and I just cant stand It, I wont let the wind keep me off the ice today. Anyone else braving the elements today?

Fished the Webster Lake derby all weekend, yesterday was a SERIOUS test for the Clam Bigfoot. Worse wind than last weekend during the blizzard. I was skunked all day Saturday and yesterday the only fish I caught was a 3-1/2 lb smallmouth. Nice fish, but not for the board. Oh well, had a great time anyway!

Heading out now. Maybe the wind will die down by the time I get there. It should be easy setting up my new portable in this wind right. ;D

I bought a used clam junior a few weeks back and used it for the first on a beautiful and nonwindy day.  I knew it was not going to be easy to set up today (especially with no ancors) but I figured why not.  Got there and walked out to my spot and noticed that the wind wasn't terrible so I opened it up. By the time I got everything out our friend the wind showed up. After 15 minutes of trying to put the tent part on I gave up, not because the wind wouldn't let me but rather because I new if I did get it on my shanty would have turned into a sail.  Needless to say, I need to find a place that sells ancors.

Saturday was slow for me too.  I fished a 2 trap lake (the biggest in NH, guess which one) with a group of guys.  We had 7 tipups in an area that has produced steady fish.  Not a single flag.  Chummed a jig hole heavy and watched a few lakers cleaning up their free meal and occasionally sniffing our jigs but no bites.  I finally got sick of the skunk and found a nice rise and jigged up a few 16"+ smallies.  Lots of fun on the jig stick.  Hopefully next weekends better.  Oh well, that's fishing!

Had my best day of the season in the gusty winds.  My portable took a beating but was anchored well enough to stay put and not collapse.   :)

I fished outside all day sunday and monday, landed a few nice fish (pickerel and some crappies), lost one glove to the wind, and tested out some new gear.

On Sunday I recorded several 45mph plus blasts that pushed me off balance along with a nice steady 15mph constant wind. Conditions were definitely worse than the blizzard weekend (photo below). Overall though, aside from my feet getting slightly cold, I was fairly comfortable.

I fished the 1st Conn. Sunday. It was THE most brutal day I have ever spent on the ice. My Shappell 6000 was worth it's weight in gold!!  Very slow day, only had one flag and one missed hit on my jig pole. Hat's off to anyone who fished Sunday.
