Ice fishing Accomodations
« on: Jan 23, 2013, 07:08 PM »
Well here goes. I am looking for a nice cabin/lodge to go ice fishing out of. This will be a family trip with possibly another family joining us.  Upper management will be quite demanding on the accommodations. This is what would get approved.
1. It has  to be clean! !!!
2. It needs reliable power.
3. HEAT, the kind that warms to the bone.
4. Decent fishing.
5. Within 3 hours of Saskatoon. O.K. maybe a little more.
6. A  great view would be a bonus.
  Any ideas?

Piprell Lake has some brand new Chalet's. Well brand new to them. They were at Candle lake and moved last year. Pretty new and modern, definitely clean. There is no restaurant there but each room comes with kitchen and a BBQ outside. It's possible to catch fish right in front of your accomodations.

Four types of trout; splake, rainbow, tigers, browns.
I can find out tomorrow how much I think it's something like 90 a night for 2 people then maybe 20 bucks for person after. My friend was the one who rented, i just drove up from whiteswan to fish and have supper with them.

I have stayed at the "new" lodge at Piprell. Very nice. Fully equipped kitchen, sat TV, showers, heat etc etc. Plus you could walk out to the ice from the deck.

If you are willing to go a little further, check out the link: http://www.otterfallsresort.com/index.htm

Might be an option for you, but it is on the East side of Winnipeg.

I read somewhere that they no longer stock brook trout in Piprell. Stopped in '06 but there still must be a few swimming around there. Just like there may be a few Kokenee  left in Singh....highly unluckly but wouldn't that be something to pull out!
