Attaching Plastics
« on: Jan 21, 2013, 03:58 PM »
Is there a way to attach a soft body plastic, like a maki. To your jig.

Ive seen some guys use a small dab of lock tight glue, which works. But makes me think this could create a scent or taste issue for finacky fish.

Any suggestions.

You're not casting them out like during open water. Virtually no stress on them dropping down a hole. Never had a problem, with any brand, just threading them on the hook however one wants them to hang

if you're noticing that the plastic is sliding up the hook, or the fish somehow manage to steal it off the hook, then i'd use some superglue.

as long as you let it dry first (which shouldn't take long) i don't think there'll be any scent or taste issues.

Glue should do it. I have never noticed a slower bite because of the scent from the glue.

Sometimes, simple is best.  With micro plastics, often time I just hook point wacky rig.  It gives the plastic lots of room to wiggle.
