I will never understand the obsession with catching pan fish. Especially the guys that buy the flashers and underwater cams to catch pan fish. Now to each his own but I've never got excited about catching bait. Caught my fist laker a few weeks ago and that was a fun catch. I also saw how hard Landlocked salmon fight, it was pretty impressive. By far my favorite is Northern Pike, nothing fights like a big pike.

It used to be Smelt on Lake Champlain, but I think they are now extinct in that body of water due to alewife invasion.
Now I jig up perch and walleyes predominately from Oneida Lake.
The tug is the drug.

I would love to catch the ole lady in my shanty! ;D .....but she hates the cold!  :-\ ......but there is no better way to ice fish for me when your jiggin deep water and all of a sudden "THUMP".....waldo on!!  :woot:

I would have to say Large Northern Pikes on Lake Champlain , they take a large 4" or better Golden Shiner for fun!!!!

i do love rippin up a bucket of perch :icefish: but i would have to say fighting a giant laker or brown is one of my favorites  ;D
