Anyone get a free shack relocation?
« on: Jan 20, 2013, 02:37 PM »
Seems like glare ice, a warm day, and 60mph gusts might get some of the lighter plywood shacks on the move.
I'm a man, but I can change, If I have to, I guess.

Ha! Quite windy here in Madison yesterday 6-10:00PM. I could not imagine being out there, but some die-hards were! Some permanant shacks blown to shore (hope there was no one in them), heard stories of tip ups being blown out of the holes. Not for me, I was home and thought the darn roof was gonna blow off!

I was on the lake at the time. I had to quit because I was having problems hitting the hole dropping a jig down from chest level. Leading the hole for a while worked but the blinding snow crystals coming across the lake at 40+  mph made it miserable. Luckily I had a nice meal of perch by that time.

I didn't because I had to work yesterday, but about a week ago two guys fishing on the other side of lake sitting in a two man portable had that very problem. One of the guys came running out to attend to a "flag" about ten seconds later the other guy got out to attend a different "flag". Guess the rest of the story is pretty obvious but man was that funny. lol A good 1/8 to the marsh where it stopped... lol still think it's funny.

Saturday evening we were on a lot of glare ice, a gust of wind caught my friend as he was walking, he weighs about 220 and it blew him about 12 feet across the ice. You should have seen him waving his arms, lol.
