Cookie Cutter Calamity
« on: Jan 10, 2013, 02:02 PM »
Tough week this week, slow action and small fish :-\ glad to be fortunate enough to fish though and I will give a report anyway

Tues. - Went out with Stinginglips to a area we had never ice fished but have open water fished. Potential for STUD Brownies is there but we have some more learning to do in the coming weeks. Ice was 9" and solid, a truck had actually been out there. We landed one very small 12" Brownie and a dozen whitey Bulgers

Wed.- Took my good buddy Bogmanjr. out, he wanted to get on some Slabs, I figured we would set out a few Rainbow traps while we were glued to the vexilars for Craps. Ice was 7" We ended the day with 5 Rainbows all VERY small, 13 Crappie all over 12" besides 2 I think, and a dozen yellows. Always a great time fishing with Harrie though

Thurs.- Fished with Rando and Steve today, targeting Bows in a spot that normally produces well and with decent size.........  1 PICKERAL,  ::)  maybe next time. Ice was 9" of good black stuff.

LOL, nice showing Aqua..definately a lite bite this week, except for the two rainbows we got yesterday. Funny thing about the stomach contents, both had 4" baby bass and mouths full of smelt ;)  Love these fronts coming in out,the fish are kind of like me ...snacking every hour :)

nice take frank I managed to get my brother out on the ice for a couple of hours today in our neck of da woods for his first outing this season.  we managed  to ice ten nice slabs and and a  two perchzillas in an hour and a half. I forgot to get pics before I filleted them on the ice. my bro was pumped. he had never fished with a vex before today and now   now he says he wants to play my fishXbox ASAP, LOL  .were about to fish fry for dinna now. probably got at least four pounds of fillets. i love it when u get someone to come out who doesn't fish and they slam it..   I had to ask??  Is it the fish or U who is hooked now buddy.. I wish I could post pics we took all the fillets and cooked them in a tinfoil pouch with red and green  bell pepper onions, garlic , olive oil S&P a liittle Montreal steak seasoning  and two diced spicey Italian sausages. it was my bros idea and boy was it a good one this meal is indescribably tasty.

you heard wrong Bog. I cooked breakfast and lunch :). Although, Frank provided the deer sausage for breakfast and the tenderloins for lunch. It all comes out in the wash
