Hi there Nate, hope your new state is treating you well. As for the crappie, they all went back in the drink for another day. LOL, you remember that meal

The shanty went out this past Saturday, still getting things set up. Soon we will be cooking

Thanks Kev. That was a fun day for sure, always nice when the Lavaman comes to town. The main lake was making ice last night, Perch Boy and I could hear that lovely music from the shanty in my cove. So Crappie fishing will now become white perch, Big!!!!Browns and Rainbows. I'll be out checking the ice at some point today with my harness, then possibly make the run into the basin with the bobhouse in tow.

All those years using them in my bass boat for still fishing and high speed running taught me well. But you introduced me to them icefishing. Funny thing, we always used experience to dictate our fishing methods on the ice, never with electronics, I am happy my boys learned the hardway, cause this is just to way to easy

Definately increases your odds and especially useful for light biters. And you are correct, I'll probably never leave home without it, I just have to "ground" the boys so I can get my hands on it
