Wind is brutal on Alton bay!!!!!!!!
« on: Jan 05, 2013, 08:18 AM »
But we are fishing on 6-8" of good ice all the way to Sandy Point, that's as far as I've checked.

Out here with Big Jim, Dale, NHDeadHead, SlabbinCabin and met Draz and his group.

Your not kidding! I stopped by at first light this morning and between the wind & the mini snowstorm, I retreated south of there.

Good luck to all you guys!

Good luck..starting to blow down south
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

Good seeing you too Mike, saw Lou on our way out and I helped some guy pull his bobhouse out to the spot he wanted it on. Amazing how easy those things move on hard ice. Why was it always deep slushy snow when I moved mine???

We ended our day with 1 nice 15" rainbow, a few salmon, about a dozen small yellows, and 1 blown bait bucket down the lake that we couldn't recover. The Shanty village is forming, must of been 10 shacks by the time we left. Was only that original 1 when we got there.

There were 3 parked @ the ramp when we left. Definitely would have been nice to have a warm hardside out there today

Nice meeting you also Scott. Also met Joe, is that you NHSlabbincabin? If so nice meeting you as well? You are not kidding about the wind, it was bad, proud of the boys, they stuck it. They are wiped out. We managed about a dozen small (real small) yellow perch, 1 cusk and 2 lakers. Hoping to make it back up there again next weekend.

Tight lines to all!!

wind was insane in moultonborough as well!  i had 4+ inches of crystal clear ice which i think may not have been the best for shallow water rainbows since i went home SKUNKED.  oh well - that's how it goes!  it was still great being out there...puts my local ponds/lakes to shame...

went through meredith on the way home - no signs of life in the bay, but it was frozen over.  from welch to rattlesnake was open water.  but alton bay appeared to be locked up as far north as i could tell...

It was nice to get out on the big lake this early and do some fishing with the guys. The wind was relentless, saw several yardsales and people chasing gear all across the ice. Don't think our crew could have bought a laker but it was still fun chasing flags on the big pond and dusting tje gear off. Hopefully we can all get together again soon. Looking forward to many more good times!

We were just leaving at noon, yellow ATV dragging gear, I went back and helped a guy with a red shanty drag his shack to the spot he wanted then we took off. We had a Quickfish with us, but never set it up.

Hi Guys,  My shack has is made from a gutted pop up camper, white bottom and blue/gray top, flying a large black Gadsden flag that says "LIBERTY or DEATH". It should be out this weekend, stop by and say hi if your out there.  Joe

Oops! Thought it was black. I dig the flag though. I got the yellow 'Times up' flag with the snake striking for my new shanty.

Not done yet, been slacking pretty bad lately! More than likely going to put it in the bay when it's done but I'm hoping its easier to move than my green shack.
