Anyone gone anywhere near Bear Gulch?  Just wondering how thick and how far towards the main lake the ice goes, atv worthy?

I was out monday and just parked at the gulch access area and fished just over the hill. In that area there was 14inches of ice and 3 inches of snow. A lot of people farther out towards the main lake but I am going that way sunday. I know it wasnt really what you were askingbut I hope it helps.

Well thats good enough!  If theres 14 right there, theres gotta be at least 8 along the shore towards bear gulch, I don't usually venture out past bear anyway.  Any luck where you were at cadreau87?

Well yesterday was good but not too many fish but to many flags to handle. I dont know what we were doing wrong but I couldnt hook anything. Had a hit on a tip up and straightened the hook right out, idk what it was but it was big and in 47fow and right on the bottom. Laker would be my guess.

you guys are getting me fired up!  I might not be able to go until sunday now with this storm coming in.  If you see the county plow on silver city road friday or saturday, thats me, so watch out! lol.  But yea, looks like sundays it for me.  If i make it out, I'll be on a green kawasaki, auger off the front, gear off the back.  Dying to get out to  jenny!

It gets pretty tricky to catch the pike if they're loosing their teeth.

Ya i dont think that i am going out til sunday. Im not about to sit out there when its -5 and a high of 15. So sunday i will be out and hopefully get into the pike again. I had a blast last weekend, would have been a great time if we could have hooked half the fish that bit. Does anyone have any tips for a hook setup on tips ups? I couldnt seem to hook them.

My Navionics app for 'droid shows shallow depths across Pactola, maybe 50+ foot and more from where I was fishing last year. Never fished Jenny, what's the avg depth out across the area?

Just single hooks or are you running the split setup? And I was any where from 10-50fow this past weekend.

The ice in front of bear is at 9"  I didn't go into bear, I was on the lakers...  but I would say it should be good to go
