DRY compressed air will do the trick............get it cleaned out then store your heater in a sealed garbage bag to prevent spiders and debris.

I took my buddy heater apart and cleaned all the fuel lines and you wouldn't believe the spunk that came out. Take all the metal parts off and the burner. Then look inside from the bottom and you will see 2 black plastic arms with a plastic clip on the end that needs to be gently pushed away from where it's connected. this will take the sides and the handle off, then you can go to work taking the plumbing apart and blowing things out with an air compressor. You need to be careful with the clips as they break and you have to buy new ones for about $35.00 don't ask how I know this.
