3 Rivers

It was hard to drive back to work today down I-65 after the long holiday break. Robinson lake in Hobart was completely covered. Probably skim to thin ice. Anyone been able to see if 3 Rivers is starting to Ice up yet? Last year it was mid January before it was safe to walk on it. It lasted 2 weeks. I hope we have good ice soon and it goes into February!

I checked it Saturday and it was completely open.  Also check Grand Ave and it was about 1/4 covered.  The past 2 days Grand has locked up and I was going to try to check 3 Rivers on the way home from work today, if I get a chance I will post results.

it is completly locked up with about an inch of ice.  Hopefully it will stay locked up through this weekend.

Not Quite Completely locked up.  Looks like it from the road but it is not.  Stopped there on the way home and there is open water out from the dock and had waterfowl in it so maybe after tonight.  Walked the bank a ways and the ice is good clear ice out but if its an inch it is on the skinny side of it and the springs will make it tricky this weekend at best IMO.  I will be looking elsewhere for this weekend.  Good luck and be safe.
