Build one last year . Was a lot of fun and work ! Very easy on off the ice ! You planning to keep anything or strip down to the frame ?

Hang on to those pull out ends (bunks) - If they are the aluminum framed kind, they also work great as a platform for a smaller shanty if you frame the underside with 2x2.

My son and I are working on Rev. 1 using one of those as the floor. Some $5.00 thrift store skis, two sheets of door panel material for end walls, scraps of wood and cheap tarp. Go fishing even in bad weather, still move around and pull easy.

Good luck with your build!

i've got my walls pre-fabed waiting to go up i made the decision to put a peaked roof on it instead of the fiber glass top because i suspect it going to be lighter haha, so i didnt have any light when i got back from my home depot run to take pics but i am planing on siding it with metal roofing

I think most shanty builders wish they had more space.  Ice fishing requires a crapload of gear and clothing, and having space to keep it all is a pain.  I would frame in your rig with the back bunk extended - frame in and enclose the side and add a sloping rear roof and sides to mimic the pop up rear bed (you could use it for storage or a sleeping area).   On the front I would build out the body to follow the front hitch triangle-again to gain free space.  Pop up are designed to support the beds, why kill that extra space?

Dang! I was pretty happy with my flip-over till I saw this. Now I think it's time to start checking the craiglist.  As usual, doing things bass ackwards, already have a name for the shack I haven't even found yet,            Ft. Apache
