Fished Church on Monday from 7:30am till noon, 4 of us fishing, fished from the ramp and south, 4" of ice with bad spots along the bank near the springs. Only marked and caught a few dink perch. fished at all depths with all the tried and true methods then went with the rest of the stuff in the box. Didn't have cut bait or smelt but tried artificial bait, maggots and meal worms. Saw a few fellows trek up north of the ramp about 1/4 mile and below the ramp, way around the bend to the south.

Last year i fished the eastern side of the slough...caught this guy there..use the houses as references. Perch, pike, bass...lots of fun.

just parked by the ramp and walked down,  the length of that side of the slough. Hit the power auger early in the am..make sure they all know we are ice fishing in their backyard...haha ;) Great pics! Definitely a fun place. I hope to get onto Egan slough soon

Turn off Lower Valley Road on to Wagner Lane and follow it maybe 1/4 mile until you see the public access sign... can't miss it. There was about 3 inches of good solid, clear ice last week. We did well on the pike Wednesday but it was considerably slower on Thursday. If you're after pike just set up off a weed bed in 8-15 fow and use a tip up with a smelt about 3 feet off bottom and wait for flags!

It is located here, I don't remember the name of the road off Lower Valley but it is easy to find:

Hey Tina, I would just follow Youngbloods directions if he was there last week. I know when I tried that route last year it was blocked off by private owners and I had to enter at another spot. South side of slough where lower valley rd turns left sharply. But definitely get out there. There are so many great places to ice fish up here I feel spoiled. Good Luck

PJB it isn't blocked by any owners as of last week. The boat ramp itself has a concrete barrier in front of it put there by the state to block large boats from launching but you can easily get a sled around it. The route that Cornbread shows on the map is correct but google earth has Wagner Lane labled in its old location. Wagner Lane now comes off of Lower Valley Road at the green bubble in Cornbread's picture. There is a sign at the intersection that says Wagner Lane so its hard to miss. Just thought I would clarify to avoid confusion.

Just got back from Church , ice is about 5 inches now, only 2 people out there. Saw a pike on the Marcum camera, few dinky perch 15 feet of water off boat ramp. Mainly out there for the maiden voyage of my new Strikemaster auger. worked great, husband was amazed how easy and quick it was to drill holes..Just out there about an hour.
Directions were spot on! Thanks again !

We just came back from Church.  Ice is about 4" with wet snow on top.  Fishing is slow.  One northern, one keeper perch and 2 tip ups went off. Fished in 7 - 15'.   We are suspecting that the bull trout are hitting them.  Our observation from less than a week ago, that the ice is worse this week.

It's gonna get worse before it gets better...40 degrees and rain/snow mix.  :-\
