While I am at it is there a partiucular jig that works best for perch? And last year did not turn out so well for perch, where should a person be fishing in the silos area?

I signed up for this last year but did not have much time to play around with it. Is there percs other than chats and info transfer?

I have also been looking to upgrade ice augers I prefer 8" any ideas on what auger is the best for the money?

Has anyone been to the Silo's area in the past couple days?? How is the fishin? Hopefully good as I am going tomorrow, I guess we will see, good or bad I will report tomorrow evening!

Fished Helena reservoir Christmas day with no luck. Saw people fishing at causeway and silos.

Any one headed to CF today/ Silos area... taking the kids there and hoping to land a few for the kids sake! Any Ideas on where to walk to to get into a couple perch,ling,walleye, or even trout if I have to

If u go out from the silos towards the dikes along the shore u should get into the trout. as for the walleye and perch just hafta search around for them. most people R tight lipped about where they r catching those delicious specimens. if u were 2 go for perch go towards hole in the wall and find the deeper water. Good luck hope the kids tare into some fattys.

I have not fished the reservoir yet this year but will be hitting soon, will let you know, I hear they have about ten inches as of today

I'm going out there tomorrow. Went to spring meadow today after work and it sucked... Watched all the bass and perch on the camera but they refused to bite

We measured 8 solid inches south of the silos yesterday. Good ice, but poor bite.

Resivour sucked so I went out to spring meadow. NAILED the perch out there! Took me three trips out there to find the big perch! Average size was about 8" going back out tomorrow

Ya I have been getting some real nice perch recently out there but I havn't been keeping any. Do you keep them? Lots of bass, quite a few perch, and a few trout, and easy to try for an hour or two!

I keep some of them. Somebody has to manage them so they will grow. It's been terribly hard to catch them lately. But today I found something that worked and switched both poles to the same thing. If not for my aquavu I would have came home empty handed!

I always fish under a shelter where I can see all the way to the bottom and you can catch way more when you can see the fish coming in. the fish out there just kind of suck it in and then spit it out right away so you gotta be quick to the hook set. I have just been using a glow hook with a split shot and a couple maggots and am catching lots of fish mostly bass but a couple trout and a couple perch.
