spears,&tipups
« on: Dec 27, 2012, 09:23 AM »
Am I correct, if using a spear to fish with, that you should only be able to put out 2 tipups? A friend e-mailed me to say he was going to try spearing, and was glad he could use a spear, and 3 tipups. I think he is wrong, but don't know for sure. thanks. Oh and guys, I hope I don't read as many reports of people going through as last year! I am itchy to get out also, but not tht bad. be safe

i bel;ieve a spear is counted as a line..im not 100% on that ..im just assuming the d.n.r. isnt going to roll like that.
i just know they will bite if i stay another hour.

In Michigan a spear doesnt count as a line. If your spearing decoy has a hook in its back it would be considered a line. You can get around that by using a decoy pin.
