South of Wyoming. 12/12/12.

Landed 5 trout. All 16-18". 4 bows and 1 cutty.  Got a stupid pike also.

Missed/lost 11 others, 3 of which were in the 20" range.

Green lazer and kasty were equal.

On the ride up saw a pair of 'yotes and a flock of turkeys and a herd of deer.

20 other people on the lake. *****s! :D

Nice Slayer! I dunno if it was just first ice or what but I had a hard time hookin' um too. Glad you got a few nice ones. Even one of my favorite stupid fish...   ;)

Ice looked thin there too.

Lake John perhaps? There wouldn't be Pike in Lake John would there? Nice fish. I am going up on the Grand Mesa Saturday or Sunday.

I fished west of Kansas  ;) on Friday and the ice was already up to 5" on the east end.  Hey, you didn't bother with an auger through 3.5 inches of ice?  How do you know the hole wasn't wider than 10" ? ::)
