Northland Bionic Ice Fluorosilk
« on: Dec 07, 2012, 10:14 PM »
Just picked some up in 3 lb test.  Spooled three rods with it.  Have not had a chance to test it on the water yet, but I think I am going to really like it.  It might be new this year, so I'm not sure if there will be any reviews of the stuff yet, but if there are, I want to hear them.

Go buy your favorite open water line, 95% of ice lines are gimmicks, IMO.

I really like flourosilk. I have 2lb on one rod and 4lb on one rod.  I also like the HT Ice Black. The ice black has almost zero memory, lowest I've ever seen in a mono. I'm running the ice black on two rods as well, after this season I think ill finally have my favorite line picked out. I'm done with braid except for pike and lakers.

I just picked some also, got a great deal at the st. paul show. The line seems really nice I have it on my spooler and it there is no bunching up. While putting it on, "3#" I had a hard time seeing the line, which made me Happy Happy Happy!

I've used it for a year now, love the stuff! I've been using the odd weights of 3# and 5# and have had great luck. It's good stuff IMO.

I'm trying to decided whether to go with the fluorosilk or the floroice from P line. Maybe I buy both and see which I think does the better job.

Do like the fishability of fluorosilk (knot strength, non memory, abrasion resistance, small dia).
Don't like the amount of line stretch when fishing deep water.

Don,
What do you recommend for the deeper water?

I did clear myself, I don't really see much difference in the two. Grey might be a little easier to see and tie knots, haha.
