Vega reservoir

Someone on the Fish Explorer wanted to know about ice on Vega. I called yesterday and they told me it was open water with 2" of snow on the ground. Fishing was good from Shore. I think it ices up about the same time as the Blue Mesa. They are about the same elevation.

Vega 8000'

Called again yesterday and now the lake is mostly capped. Just a little open water in the middle. They said it isn't ready for ice fishing just yet, but I would guess after this next storm passing it will be close.
