I heard that there was 3-4" up there but i don't know how the roads are or if they are open. Sounded like the fishing was so-so.

Very nice, very nice indeed sounds like a great outing...hoping for some cold weather on our favorite waters happens soon. Hey did you try that new rod/reel out? I'm curious how it worked for ya as I've been eye-spying them just haven't pulled the wallet trigger yet.

Yes it was a great trip
the catching could not have been better, ice was 2.5-3in clear black underneath 3.5-4in of cloudy stuff. We didnt venture out on any other of the lakes but from what ones we could see they all had a cap, not sure on their thickness. The new spud bar came in handy as i found some thinner ice while trying to venture into some deeper water, so back to where we started it was
One more storm and it will get pretty nasty up there so if anyones planning on going be careful and take plenty of emegency stuff just in case (tire chains, shovel, towstrap, extra water and food). There was easily over 2ft of snow off the side of the packed stuff we were driving on and getting off the main road was pretty impossible in a truck without the chance of getting stuck. From the looks of the slide offs, a few had that misfortune
was good to see this stuff out again
the new inline worked great even though i only got to use the free spool as we were only fishing 4fow, all we did was lift the rod and the fish were on the ice. The scenery was pretty spectacular too
first ice is nice
tightlines

Looks like a great time. I love it when the temps are mild enough not to have to bundle up
