Alaska Crappie
« on: Nov 14, 2012, 08:45 PM »
Very virgin to Alaska and living in Anchorage.  Can anyone tell me where a guy can find some crappie and or other pans through the ice.  Or are there any to be had?  Don't hold back, I can handle the truth.  I know I probably should have posted this on Alaska Forum but many others have fished the state and might also have some insight as to possible spots.

Thanks a bunch for that Akhardwater.  I was really hoping that was the case.  Actually looking at properties in Eagle River and looks like a great community and not to far to my job in Anchorage.  Use to fish a sand lake back in Wisconsin that also was loaded with crappie and walleye.  I'm lovin Alaska more and more each day.

He's kiddin' CB.
No pannies in AK.
Trout, whitefish, burbot, char, sheefish, pike, grayling and sammin's.
Lakes in the Anchorage area mostly have stocked rainbows and salmon as well as some char.

Eagle River..... 20 minutes from anything and 20 minuted from everything. You still have that nasty commute to Anchorage. 3 lanes of road rage and inexperienced drivers on ice. First good snow there will be at least 5 rollovers. I counted 11 one morning..... and a couple had been cleaned up.

Nancy Lakes Rec area ranger report last week had 26+ inches on most lakes. All the snowmachine trails are now open too with the latest snowfall.
