Did you get pics of the big burbot. The fat one had a 10 inch burbot in it and the skinny one had a big white fish in it. tasted great.

I do have a few pics of the burbot. Remember it was dark out so they aren't great pics. I will post them later.

That burbot I had was full of whitefish bones and mashed up whitefish.  We should of got a better picture of the whitefish hanging out of Salmonman's laker.  In my expert opinion it was at least a 14" whitefish judging from the size of the tail.  Hey you know it is true that if you hold a little fish way out it makes it look bigger in pictures.  I think those Fairybanks boys are onto something.  ;D ;D

Oh man, you have started a competition now. Pictures will have to be with iceshanty approved rulers next to them. From a certain distance and also with girth measurements. I can see the comments coming in by the dozen after that comment AkHardwater. Should be a great thread that doesn't get sidetracked.  :-\

I do.  Maybe if we are lucky we can get judgement on form and technique from "Mr. Elbows" himself.

I'll say it was healthy. It was so hungry it had a 10-14" whitefish still sticking out of its mouth when it enhaled my secret weapon. Definitely not the longest fish I have seen but for the length it had one of the biggest head and shoulders I have seen. It was slapping its tail violently when it went back down the hole. No blood, no fingers in the gills and he was only out of the water for a few seconds.

Is there any good places around the parking areas of the lake you can fish close to shore for lakers? I plan on bringing a 2 and 4 yr old form anchorage. Do the lakers typically stay in deeper or shallow waters?
Lets go catch some fish!

The campground before you get to the end of the road will lead you to a place called Army Point. Go down off the point and start there. Start shallow and work out into deeper water. Good luck!
