We are way overdue to get out on the cut.... Venison sausage made up and ready for action on the ice! Plus the new stuff we bought last year really needs to be tested out!

I took a drive down to the cut just before dark.  Wide open of course.  No ice even on the edge.  Hoping to fish somewhere next weekend.

I saw some ponds with ice part way out thismorning. I'm hoping the cut started forming some too.

The pond by the Milesburg truck stop is frozen for the past 2 days.  I will check on the cut in the next day or two and give a post.

does this lake has fish in decent size? i checked biologist reports and seems all fish are on small side, lots of dinks., esp perch and crappie. i have also heard this by word of mouth. im sure guy get decent ones. but is this generally the case here?    thanks!

This  lake has a panfish restriction limit on it..9 inch minumum.. there's 10 billion 8 1/2- 8 7/8 crappie in here and gets fish hard year around. But there is still a keeper in every 50-100 fish you pull in. At least that's what some say..We've had a little better odds than that before from time to time.  ;D  It's a fun lake though

It's a good thing there's no ice on the lake with all this snow.

This is a lake to go to to catch a lot of fish.  You can go and catch 100 crappies per day when the fishing is OK.  You are correct that most of the fish are in the 8.5 inch range and with the pressure this lake gets, when they reach 9 inches, many people keep them.  You can find some big panfish here at times, but they are hard to come by.  It still is a fun lake.  Hope this helps.  Not sure when we will get ice on it.  Last year, the ice was not safe to be on.  Presently we have 7 inches of snow and it is snowing with sleet. >:(

Snow sucks. Just insulates and keeps ice from forming. Thanks guys for the replys!

Took a ride this afternoon and saw that it had 1 inch of frozen slush on the cut and small coves and in parts of the no wake zone by the creek.  We're getting there.  Hopefully within 2 weeks for the cut.
