Hey I used to live in Whitby and Scugog was where I used to fish. I hope you guys get some cold weather this year so you can enjoying ice fishing. Im out it Edmonton now and today is -15 with the wind!

Fishing is great. Far less lakes than what Ontario has to offer but if you put in your time you can figure out patterns that work. Im a walleye guy and mainly chase them around.

I had better luck on Caesarea side. About 300m sw from the launch in about 7' of water. It produced lots of plus sized pan fish. At night the walleye would often come in for a snack. Jigs with pinheads worked good for walleye. Thickest greenest weed will be work ticket out there!

Found this thread on another board. Anybody else ever see a pike in Scugog? Apparently one was caught in 93'. Here are some pics of what sure looks like a nice size tiger.

Ice on the lake today boys. In fact, it's still there right now as of 16:10hrs. Just in the coves along shore. About an 1/8" thick, 50 feet out. Not much, but its a good sign.

Making some ice guys! I walked out about 12 feet and someone walked out much further. Quite solid for the little cold we have had. I don't think it will last with the projected warm weather over next few days but it's a good sign! FT

Well, I did not drill a hole...it made only faint cracking sounds at places, allot thicker than I thought it was going to be. I suspect around 3-4"

are you hanging around scugog or heading to simcoe FT. received my new blackbetty 6061 today. sweet. will mount in on a fenwick elite rod 27'' with 5lb p-line fluro-ice

I will be focusing on Scugog for a while then heading north for pike. I find Scugog really slows after the initial bite. Pike is dang tasty with huge fillets. My new obsession.

Nice getting some new stuff eh IF64? I let the ice bug bite me tonight to. (Good thing the wife does not read this)

Hit SAIL tonight for a spool of 60lb fluorocarbon leader material and some red trebles for the pike. Got a few bigger buckshot jigs to. Can't wait! Viciouscircles video has me drooling. Here's a pic of my sled with the skis I just put on so she slides better. Pulling that bugger last year was a real work out in the snow. FT
