Smitty sled variant

Anybody build a smitty sled with ice skates instead of skis? Or perhaps skates on the bottom of the skis? The skates wouldn't be very good in more than a few inches of snow, but on clear ice I bet it would pull real nice.

Think the skates would be hell on gravel parking lots no less blacktop! My skis on my Smitty sled work well on all surfaces!

No question they work well with skis, and for sure skates will be no good at the launch. I just feel like I need to give it a try.

I used to use an old sled with metal runners (flexable flyer), it worked great till there was too much snow. The sled didnt float on top on soft snow.

Just bought a new bigger sled last year and mounted wheels on the back of it. This sits on the smitty sled where the wheels do not touch. When I get to a parking lot I unstrap the sled and fold up the ski's and away I go. If there is too much snow I can un-clip the wheels and pull them out of the way.
